Programme

With an “Invitation to the Dance” we make a homage to Johann Strauss II, on the 200th birthday of the King of the Waltz in 2025. In ballrooms, on stages and in public spaces, Strauss is an international superstar – his waltzes, polkas inspire us to dance and are a reflection of the Viennese attitude to life. In so doing, Maestro Karel Mark Chichon will design a programme that will reflect many different aspects of the dance - which Johann Strauss made into a unique art form - from French Waltzes to South American Dances and of course to the most famous of Viennese dances of Waltzes and Polkas. But to make it even more special, Elīna Garanča will sing from the first time the famous Czardas from Die Fledermaus in a specially made arrangement for this concert.
